Synopsis:
Finland and Sweden officially applied to join NATO.
Russian government spokesperson said that Russia’s response is in the hands of its Ministry of Defence.
In January 2022 Finnish diplomats and staff of the foreign ministry complained that their phones were hacked, Times of Israel quoted Pegasus malware. Finnish Security and Intelligence Service later said “a state actor of some sort” was likely behind the hack.
In April 2022, the websites of the Government of Finland were hacked and forced offline during President Zelensky’s speech to the Finnish parliament.
Sweden recently announced that they were hacked by “Russian state-sponsored hackers in 2021”.
Dmitry Rogozin, (head of Russia’s space agency Roscosmos) threatened Elon Musk that his head is going to roll for providing the Starlink satellite internet services to Ukraine.
US Government (Blinken) publicly attributed ViaSat hack to Russia (UK and EU support the US claim/position, based in their own investigation).
US has started increasing security at their Satellite ground stations due to the Russian cyber threat.
